Technology SIG Purpose
The purpose of the Technology Special Interest Group (SIG) is
to share information about postsecondary institutional policies
and procedures regarding the provision of adaptive technology
(AT) for students with disabilities; and the development, procurement,
and use of accessible Web pages, distance learning programs, videotapes,
and other technologies on campus. The Technology SIG recruits
speakers for AHEAD conferences and suggests special programs that
AHEAD might undertake in the area of technology access for postsecondary
students with disabilities. Members of this SIG encourage individuals
to submit proposals for AHEAD national and regional conferences.
The Technology SIG maintains on this Web page a
list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers provided
by SIG members as well as lists of technology-related electronic
discussion groups and websites that might be of interest to AHEAD
members. Content of this website is provided by SIG participants
and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of AHEAD administration
or the organizations for whom these individuals work.
