UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

At the Spring 2011 meeting of the AHEAD Board of Directors, a motion was passed to support the US ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).  AHEAD joins a long list of disability rights and advocacy organizations encouraging the United States Senate vote for ratification.  Ratification is the second step in treaty adoption, the first is becoming a signatory. The United States became a signatory in 2009.
