VISIONS

  1. AHEAD
    “AHEAD envisions educational and societal environments that value disability and embody equality of opportunity.”
  2. REDD SIG
    REDD SIG envisions an AHEAD organization that reflects a representational heterogeneous population (racial, ethnic, other diversities, and disabilities) of AHEAD individuals functioning in all offices at the local, state, national and international levels of  AHEAD. Additionally, REDD SIG envisions an organization that generates and supports broad collaborative grant efforts that target support for and solutions to the needs of individuals with disabilities.

MISSIONS

  1. AHEAD
    AHEAD exist to provide a membership organization that support individuals in developing policies and quality services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities involved in higher education.
  2. REDD SIG
    REDD SIG exist to provide an increase in the awareness of AHEAD members on issues of diversity pertaining to Individuals from historically underrepresented groups.

REDD SIG’s GOALS

  1. Serve as an advocate for an increase in the numbers of diverse individuals participating on AHEAD committees.
  2. Foster collaboration of diverse individuals participating in policy review and policy generation.
  3. Ensure AHEAD administrators remain informed of emerging diversity issues.
  4. Foster a strong institutional commitment to collaboration on diversity issues.
