The Technology SIG meets annually at the National AHEAD conference. Check
the program schedule for meeting time and location.
AHEAD: October 2009 Technology SIG Report
Report submitted by Lyla Crawford. New co-chair with Lyla is Cindy Jepsen
(not present at AHEAD at time, but interest expressed beforehand and confirmed
afterwards).
Discussed new SIG guidelines and how they impact Technology SIG. Discussed
how newer SIGs like the On-line and E-Text groups impact the Tech SIG. Both
of these were topics previously covered by the Tech SIG. Decided that time
should be spent reviewing the purpose of the Tech SIG and plan a course of
action. Members would like to investigate collaborating with similar groups
from the other organizations such as NASPA) to co-author articles for newsletters
such as the ALERT. Members would also like to investigate collaborating to
submit session proposals. Possible ALERT articles were discussed. Discussion
list will be used to further solicit and develop ideas.
