AHEAD is Excited to Host Renowned Disability Rights Activist Judith Heumann at the 2020 Annual Conference!

We hope you'll join us Wednesday morning, July 22, as we open the conference with insight from Judith Heumann, an internationally recognized leader in the disability rights community and a lifelong civil rights advocate. From serving as the World Bank's first Adviser on Disability and Development, to her eight-year role as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services in the DOE, Heumann has been involved in the advancement of human rights for disabled people for over 30 years. She was part of the 1977 sit-in, where nearly 150 disability rights activists demanded that President Carter implement Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. We are honored to welcome Judith Heumann as the 2020 AHEAD Keynote Speaker.
