Make A Difference in Denver and Perhaps Win a Free Trip to AHEAD 2026!

At the 2023 Conference in Portland, AHEAD initiated The AHEAD Giveback (TAG) in an effort to contribute, in some small part, to support local organizations actively working to address pervasive societal problems in our host community. AHEAD members responded with tremendous generosity--with their money and heartfelt encouragement--in ways we could not have predicted. With that encouragement, we approach Conference ‘25 with even greater enthusiasm for what TAG can do in Denver!

Over 6500 individuals in the Denver area are experiencing homelessness, with more than 1200 who have a lack of access to regular overnight shelter. As TAG has highlighted in the past, the causes of homelessness are numerous and varied. In communities such as Denver, the homeless crisis isn’t isolated to the unemployed, those suffering addiction, or individuals living with under-treated mental health concerns. Many of those facing housing insecurity have stable employment, yet cannot keep pace with the quickly rising cost of living in Denver or Jefferson County.

Once again, Chris Stone and Michael Southern have TAG-teamed to identify and screen worthy non-profit organizations to which AHEAD encourages your contributions. We urge you to visit these websites for more detailed information and to submit your tax-deductible donations today! A donation of any size makes you eligible for the drawing.

The Mission of TAG

TAG is about more than a chance to win, it is about the collective impact of our membership and the broader ideals embedded in our profession. In supporting these non-profit organizations directly confronting food insecurity and homelessness in their communities, AHEAD is sending a powerful message about its belief in tangibly supporting those who are positively impacting individuals and families facing hardship. These organizations provide essential services such as nutritious meals, safe shelter, and access to resources that help break the cycle of poverty for individuals, many of whom are disabled. Your donation helps ensure the most vulnerable populations receive not just immediate relief, but also long-term support that fosters stability and self-sufficiency. Any contribution empowers these organizations to expand their reach, respond to urgent needs, and advocate for lasting solutions, making communities stronger and more compassionate for everyone.

Give and You Could Win—You do NOT need to be attending the Conference to enter!

Anyone who makes a donation is eligible to win. On Thursday evening of the Conference, we will announce donation totals so far and draw the name of one lucky TAG participant* who will win a 2026 Conference package including:

  • Free registration for the 2026 AHEAD Main Conference in Providence, Rhode Island (Pre-conference sessions not included)
  • Transportation to/from Providence for dates of Conference
  • Four nights Conference hotel accommodations
  • Per diem for four days (to cover meals and other daily expenses)
*TAG organizers, AHEAD Board Members, and corporate sponsors & vendors are not eligible to win.
