Nearly 20 years ago, Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener coined the phrase "positive psychology coaching" to suggest that coaching practice can be informed and enhanced by the science of positive psychology. At that time, positive psychology was in its infancy and simple interventions were du jour. Since that time, the field has grown and become far more sophisticated. In this presentation, Robert will discuss four aspects of positive psychology-- hospitality, listening, strengths, and wellbeing-- as they relate to coaching practice. He will cover the latest research and offer guidance for intervention. In each case, he will stress the importance of being able to adapt practices to suit specific client needs.
