Accessing Higher Ground focuses on the implementation and benefits of: Accessible media, Universal Design and Assistive Technology in the university, business and public setting; Legal and policy issues, including ADA and 508 compliance; The creation of accessible media and information resources, including Web pages and library resources. For institutions of Higher Education: there is a strong focus on campus accommodation, Universal Design and curriculum accessibility. For businesses and other audiences: there are numerous sessions on best practices for web design, reaching untapped audiences through accessible design, and compliance with existing and anticipated Section 508 and ADA stipulations. The Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability (JPED) is recruiting authors of articles who have integrated relevant disability, accessibility, universal design, and related content within their postsecondary academic and professional development courses in a variety of subject areas to be published in a special issue of the journal. Topic of JPED’s Special Issue: Integrating disability, accessibility, and/or universal design content within postsecondary courses 1-2 Page Proposals Due: December 6, 2021 to sherylb@uw.edu The proposal should outline the article type (Research Article or Practice Brief), author(s) with titles and institutional affiliation(s), background information, purpose/questions addressed, methods and data to be reported, and implications for practice
