Sexual Assault of Students with Disabilities on College Campuses
National Council on Disability, in collaboration with RTI International
The purpose of the study is to conduct an examination and assessment of existing policies and services that support students with disabilities who have experienced sexual assault and make recommendations for reform to address the needs of students with disabilities. The goal of the project is much like a needs assessment. The final report will be a descriptive characterization of key factors that policymakers need to consider.
The findings in this report will primarily serve to assist policymakers, including the White House and Congress, and institutions of higher education with insight needed to make policy decisions designed to improve outcomes for students with disabilities who have experienced sexual assault on college campuses. The report will also provide students who have experienced sexual assault and those who support them, with an understanding of policy, legislation, and initiatives that impact their lives.
The results of this study were summarized in the report, Not on the Radar: Sexual Assault of College Students with Disabilities. The report can be downloaded from the NCD website at https://ncd.gov/publications/2018/not-radar-sexual-assault-college-students-disabilities.
