Welcome to New England AHEAD!

New England AHEAD is a regional professional organization made up of disability services professionals from higher education institutions of the 6 states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. We are the northeast affiliate of the Association on Higher Education And Disability, the leading professional membership association for individuals committed to equity for students with disabilities in higher education. Our dedicated membership is made up of professionals employed at  2-year, 4-year, and community colleges. 

In 2023-2024 NE AHEAD consisted of 135 members representing 83 colleges and universities.

Mission: NE AHEAD is dedicated to serving higher education disability professionals through promoting best practices and providing educational opportunities in order to mitigate institutional access barriers. Through thoughtful collaboration, we cultivate a knowledge community of regional partnerships and foster conversations that enable our members to confidently address unique challenges of disability access, equity, and justice in higher education.

• All of NE AHEAD’s member benefits are available to institutions and individuals for a low cost and memberships can be renewed each academic year (September through May)

• Join New England AHEAD for monthly member meetings, online and in-person networking opportunities, and more. Membership Calls are held the 3rd Friday of the month at 1pm on Zoom. The Zoom link is shared with members on a monthly basis
