Getting Started with Your AHEAD Membership

Are you a new AHEAD member? WELCOME!

We're so glad you've chosen to join our vibrant community of over 5,000 individuals working to realize equity for persons with disabilities in higher education! 
Please Note: The website may require up to 30 minutes to recognize your membership.

First, as a member, you are welcome to reach out to the main AHEAD office at any time with questions or if you need support. The AHEAD staff offers personalized service, information and referral, and technical assistance in a supportive and timely way.  Contact AHEAD by phone at 704-947-7779 or by email at

We also want to share the following 
quick tips that will orient you to the benefits of membership and get you started in accessing information and resources on AHEAD’s website:

  • Create a Password – Visit the AHEAD member login portal and enter your username (typically your AHEAD member-associated email address) and  select the "Forgot Password" link.  You will then receive an email with the subject "Password Reset Request" to establish your password. Please check your spam/junk email folder if you do not see this email in your inbox immediately. Once complete, you will use your username and password to log into the AHEAD site and access features that are only available to members.

  • Once you've logged into the website as an AHEAD Member, the number of  resources available to you under the upper level menu options will increase considerably, offering you member-only resources in a wide variety of areas: benchmark data, resources from past conference presentations, ,  access to the AHEAD eLearning platform with member rates that includes archived professional development webinars, listing of open professional positions, and more. 

  • Subscribe to AHEAD Members-Only Communities– AHEAD hosts a variety of online communities on different topics for members to post questions, raise ideas, share resources, and seek feedback from other members. You’ll find a professional network of amazing colleagues who are willing to share freely from their experience. Community memberships are entirely self-managed. Review the available AHEAD-member communities after you have logged into the website. Join those that interest you and start engaging.   • Review AHEAD professional development conferences, webinars, and publications – AHEAD members receive discount pricing on all eventspublications and webinars. Visit the members discount page for more information and be sure to login to the website before purchasing books or brochures to receive your member discounted pricing.
