AHEAD Member Categories

A Full Professional Member is an individual who is primarily employed by an institution of higher education or whose primary focus of work in their professional capacity involves working to enhance higher education opportunities and access for persons with disabilities.

• May vote for AHEAD offices

Each named member may vote and hold office.

• Institutional Silver - $525.00 Includes TWO Full Professional Member
• Institutional Gold - $750.00 Includes THREE Full Professional Members
• Institutional Platinum - $1,125.00 Includes FIVE Full Professional Members
• Institutional Diamond - $1,775.00 Includes NINE Full Professional Members
• Additional Professional - $220.00 (One person) One Vote and may hold office; an Institutional Member may add a Full Professional at this reduced rate.

A Transitional Professional Member is an individual who has been or is primarily employed by an institution of higher education, or whose primary focus of work in their professional capacity involves working to enhance higher education opportunities and access for persons with disabilities but who has lost their employment or lost access to institutional support for their membership. This membership category is available to individuals for one year.

An Associate Member is an individual who works indirectly in their professional capacity to enhance higher education opportunities and access for persons with disabilities.

• May not vote for AHEAD offices

Pre-Professional Membership is for individuals whose primary involvement with higher education is that of currently being enrolled in a graduate program that prepares students for professional work that enhances postsecondary opportunities and access for persons with disabilities. Note: Individuals currently employed in a position enhancing opportunities and access for persons with disabilities in postsecondary education are not eligible for this member category.

Student Membership is designed for individuals whose primary involvement with higher education is as a student enrolled at undergraduate or graduate level and whose enrollment is current at time of application and is interested in learning more about, and engaging with, professional work that would enhance postsecondary opportunities and access for persons with disabilities. Individuals employed full-time by an institution of higher education are not eligible for Student Membership.

A Partner Member shall be any organization who, by nature of their product/service or mission, is directly or indirectly involved with issues related to the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education. Represented by up to two individuals from the organization.

• Additional benefits- One complimentary membership mailing list per membership year at no additional charge and significant discounts on additional outreach resources through AHEAD.
• Membership rates on all marketing offers through AHEAD including exhibit space, advertising, literature distribution, mailing lists, etc.

• For-Profit Membership - $775
• May not hold office in the AHEAD Board of Directors
• May not vote for AHEAD offices

This is a Full Professional membership for one person who lives and works in economically challenged areas internationally.

An Emeritus Member shall be any former Active Professional member, designated Institutional or Additional Professional AHEAD member who is currently retired and not employed on a full-time basis.
