Kansas AHEAD Membership

If you fall into one of the three categories below, you are eligible to become a member of KanAHEAD. Members can meet at the two conferences held each school year by KanAHEAD and join a listserv that allows the sharing of information or questions to be asked regarding accommodations for students with disabilities in higher education. Types of Memberships:

Membership in Kansas AHEAD will be of three types:
1) Active Professional,
2) Other Professional,
3) Retired.

1) Active Professional Membership:
- An active professional member shall be any individual working in a Kansas post-secondary educational institution to enhance post-secondary educational opportunities for students with disabilities.
- Each active professional member is entitled to one vote.
- Each active professional member is eligible to hold office.

2) Other Professional Membership:
- Another professional member shall be any individual working in Kansas in a setting other than a post-secondary educational institution to enhance educational opportunities for students with disabilities.
- Each other professional member is entitled to one vote.

3) Retired Membership:
- A retired member shall be any individual who is retired from the profession of working to enhance educational opportunities for students with disabilities.
- Each retired member is entitled to one vote.

A second listserv that KanAHEAD advises you to join is DSHHE (Disabled Student Services in Higher Education). This is a national listserv that facilitates the sharing of information among providers of services for students with disabilities in higher education.
