Welcome to New Mexico AHEAD

The New Mexico Association on Higher Education and Disability (NM-AHEAD) is a statewide organization of professionals committed to full equity and participation in higher education for persons with disabilities. The Association is a vital resource for staff of college offices for people with disabilities, promoting excellence through collaboration, education and training.

Our Goals

1. To facilitate communication among college disability service providers in New Mexico to share information and strategies for effectively working with students with disabilities.
2. To provide professional development training for members and for other professionals in the field of post-secondary disability services.
3. To collaborate with state and community-based agencies committed to equal access for post-secondary students with disabilities.
4. To explore emerging best practices for students with disabilities regarding equal access to higher education opportunities.
