AHEAD’s New Information Services Portal

By Sally Scott, AHEAD Senior Research Associate

In November AHEAD launched a new member resource, the Information Services Portal. The Portal contains a variety of tools, links, and materials to support the use of research and data in your daily work. Similar to the Wiley Legal Database offered by AHEAD, the portal provides searchable information that is easy to access and available when you need it. Here are some reasons to get started with the portal:

  • Are you shopping for a Disability Resource data management system for your campus? Look in the Campus Based Data area of the portal for an overview of options and an example of a rubric for decision-making.
  • Do you need national data on college students with disabilities for your annual report? Go to the Benchmark Data area for direct links to postsecondary disability information.
  • Are you looking for research that is focused on practical issues you face in working with students and managing a Disability Resource office? The Research area has titles, abstracts, and links to Practitioner Briefs published by your peers in the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability (JPED).

The portal will continue to grow and provide new resources related to research and data-based practices. Be sure to look for the Updates Box posted on the portal home page to see what’s new.
